Wikis are very cool. However, I only find them useful only when there is a decent amount of participation by contributors and the information is kept up-to-date. Wikipedia is very informative and quite interesting. I particularly like the "Reference Desk" section. However, I never use wikipedia as an authoritative resource. As a librarian, I tend to use it as a secondary resource, like Amazon.com to help me find the correct title of a book or correct or alternative spelling of an author or individual's name when a patron is not sure or has no idea what the correct title or proper spelling is. For this particular exercise, I especially liked the EasyEdit toolbar. If you know how to use MS Word, there's really no excuse why you can't use this toolbar. It's just too easy to misunderstand.
